Was "The Shattered Statue" also part of that campaign, or did you essentially write it up from scratch? - The fight at the the end seemed rather cinematic to me, so I always thought that it might serve well as the conclusion to a campaign.

In addition, I would like to ask if you participated in playtests of the adventures you wrote later, or just let your experiences guide you.

Amelior Amanitas the alchemist was played by one of my coworkers in the early days of my time at Coleco ... before ColecoVision. Not sure where the evil elf princess came from. Long John was another guy in our office.

The Shattered Statue was not a part of my campaign. If I remember, I wrote it the way I did to introduce the "lost" DQ lore that accompanied the adventure. Ending was probably intentionally cinematic.

I rarely playtested my adventures. JG had me on too tight a schedule for anything like that. I had no group for EW. I tended to play out my adventures after they were published, not before.

I did run Shattered Statue (AD&D) with a local group of players before finishing it.
