So who's going to do what?

Kherim and Ahi stand and look. They don't approach teh statue.

Eilkhan objected to Sol's putting in an offering, saying she would put in a coin for each of us, as I understood it, so he is waiting for Eilkhan to put the coins into the bowl.

D-oh! Sorry bout that.


Eilkhan advances and deposits 7 coins, the exact amount of the group and then stands back and waits to see what happens. She is however on guard just in case the statue comes to life.

Gaderon continues to watch for danger keeping an eye on the events as they unfold!

For a few moments, nothing happens at all. Then a silvery glow emerges from the bowl, getting very bright for an instant and disappearing again. Carefully stepping forward, Eilkhan sees a long and slender silver key with a head formed like a scarab lying inside the bowl. The coins have disappeared.

Sol says "Look, he gave us a key. I wonder what it is for?" He will wait for Eilkhan to pick it up from the bowl before turning around to leave, but if she leaves without taking the key, he will step up to the statue and take the key himself.

Eilkhan does pick up the key and follows Sol back. "Cool, a key! Guess we did the right thing after all, for once."

Kherim nods, rather surprised. "Indeed... let's hope we find the lock for that key, and that it does not hold any trap."

Ahi pats the paladin on the shoulder and says "Come on, don't be so grim! Cheer up for once, and let's battle evil with renewed ardour"

"Well, then", says Ahi, "what do you say we go see that opening to the north?" Perhaps we have another maze section like this one..."

After a moment, Kherim suggests. "And perhaps that key may also reveal a lock on that green slab door. But since it had more than one carving, we may need more keys, actually."
