The Wayfarer's Inn

"So far, so good," she calls out. She continues forth being careful as she goes further.

Ivid will follow down the stairs, one arrow on his bow.

He nods to Sol. "If something happens, be careful not to get into my line of shot, friend."

Sol smiles at Ivid's comment. Since the stairs turn, we can't see Eilkhan anymore, so Sol will have his sword in one hand and the spear in the other, listening intently for any sounds that might indicate that she is in trouble.

Reaching the end of the last set of stairs, Eilkhan notices that the area ahead is illuminated with a soft light that obviously radiates down from a 20 feet high ceiling which is blue-violet in color, like a cloudless night sky. Hundreds of tiny stars sparkle on it, and there must also be a moon somewhere around the corner, for the main light source seems to lie there and strongly resembles moonlight. The walls that she can see are whitewashed and show extensive inscriptions, with pictures and small glyphs included here and there. A long and dusty workbench stands in plain sight, overladen with paraphernalia and apparatus of alchemical and possibly magical sort. To the left of it stands a man-sized statue on the wall, depicting an ancient slave-warrior, clad in leather armor with horn and metal trimmings. It carries a club, spear, and tower shield, and is painted and adorned with real feathers, almost appearing lifelike.

Eilkhan's second look goes towards the ceiling above the stairs, and again there's a row of holes with metal bars inserted. But this time she finally finds what she believes could well be the trigger mechanism for it: The floor at the base of the steps seems to be weight sensitive, although she can't tell how large that area is.

At about the same time that Eilkhan searches the stairs, Kherim notices something odd: Did the heavy sandstone plinth on which the statue rested just move? Looking closer, he sees that the plinth seems to undergo a strange transformation, becoming translucent and losing solidity.....

Kherim nods at Gaderon's words. He however was not sure the route they had uncovered was the secret door Gaderon had found earlier. Just as he was going to formulate precisely this thought to the wizard and Elmo, he was alarmed to see the plynth beginning to vanish. Standing and jumping to the trapdoor in a single movement, he cries to the opening on the ground

"hey guys, are you alright there? there's something strange going on here!"

he then turns to the plynth again, watching without touching it.

OOC: ok, I don't want to stand frozen while the plynth vanishes completely, but at the moment I'm unsure of any further action. Kherim needs to see just a bit more, I think.

"Hey guys, the floor seems to be weight sensitive here, but I don't know how large the area is. Let me check it out some more." She hears Kherim and yells back "We're okay thus far," and goes on to describe what she sees in a loud voice. No use in hiding the fact they're there.


Ahi t enses as the plinth does it's odd thing. He readies a bless spell in case something comes of the statue?

Sol tenses up as he prepares to rush down the stairs at the first sound of trouble.

He realizes from what Eilkhan has just said that his weight could trigger something - perhaps a trap using these pointy adamenite bars in the ceiling should he actually step off of the lower staircase into the chamber she has described, so he will use utmost caution should he have to go down there...
