OOC: LOL, for some reason I was thinking 8th level even though I knew we were doing 16th. That does make quite a big difference.

IC:

Still coughing from the unwholesome air released by the tomb, Kherim Shah at last seems to get control over his breathing and glares back at the dark tunnel even as he uses a mailed forearm to wipe dust from his tattooed face.

"A taste of what awaits us my friends. Perhaps I shall in the future allow our scout to first examine such portals."

Eilkhan coughs as the gas envelops everyone, but she succeeds in running outside and catch a breath of the night desert air. She returns inside and hears Kherim speak. Turning to him, she says. "I am a bit at fault as well. We all better keep alert. NO matter how experienced we are the simplest trap could do us all in."

Eilkhan proceeds to investigate the area surrounding the five foot area of the new five foot recess. "Here, someone hold this up for me or else cast a light spell for me on something so I can work properly, please." She holds her gem out as she gets ready to really inspect the area thorughly.

Ok do I really have to say I'm going to inspect the area's thoroughly or we can presume Eilkhan does it? What do you guys think? Sir Clarence? I do have 100% so the chances I miss one are very dim indeed ;)

Well, its not like we don't have the time - search first the area around the recess, then the recess floor, walls and ceiling, then the back wall of the recess.

Ivid & Elmo continue to guard the groups' backs. Ivid moves from the left tunnel to the entrance with Elmo. From there he will try to watch both to the right and left, while Elmo watches outside of the entrance. Both keep their bows ready...

Coughing as well, Ahi does reconsider that spell. (Also I forgot my +4 save adjustment, didn't matter, but gotta remember that for the future...) "Perhaps an unseen servant, or spiritual hammer can break down the next door for us" he says with a grim smile.

Eilkhan has 100%, that's correct. But particularly well-hidden traps, complex locks and other things might reduce that chance.... I'm aware that this is a house rule, but I always felt that it makes sense - and not only for high-level gaming. I hope that you're all fine with it.
Besides, I'd also prefer when you tell me exactly where Eilkhan will search. Humans (and demi-humans too!) make mistakes and sometimes miss things, and Eilkhan is no exception to this. If you want to be 100% sure, ask your cleric to cast Find Traps (or perhaps True Seeing). :)

Eilkhan carefully searches the area behind the broken painting, including the floor immediately in front of it. Nothing. What she finds out is that the back wall sounds hollow when knocked against. Like the painting, this wall is obviously just another thin sheet of plaster.

I bet it is! ;)

I've got the ability to cast find traps twice today and true seeing three times. If we are still here, and alive, tomorrow, I'll have to pray for a heroe's feast. I still say we use a spell to crack open the next wall, and stand back to prepare to face what is there.

Nothing else in this small little room of interest? That we can see anyway? :D
