Whenever you participate in a game with asynchronous responses, it's important to have some general rules or guides to how often everyone should be required to respond before the game moves on. Otherwise, one person can easily hold up the entire game without even really meaning to.

How often do you think people should respond?

Comments welcome.

One thing that might help make the game run faster is giving advance permission to allow your character to follow suggestions of other PCs. That way if you're busy, someone can "suggest" an action for you. It might also help give good ideas for alternative battle options.
