Questions :)

so "Dave Arneson's Blackmoor D&D 3.5 Softcover "
and "Dave Arneson's Blackmoor D20 (D&D 3.5 Edition)" are the same book right? Just hardcover or soft cover?

I should probably change it so the first one says hard cover. However, the soft cover includes errata and a hex map that were not included in the original hard cover.

As someone who actually confused the hell out of Havard, with some questions about parts of the Blackmoor Campaign Setting that he knew nothing about, I can confirm that there are also some other additions to the paperback version of the book. I don't have the hardback, so am not entirely sure what has been added, but I'd be happy to meet a Blackmoor fan in a London pub and compare books.

Yeah.. I only have the pdf version of the soft cover, so I dont know what the print version looks like though, whether they had a fold out version of the map or not etc.

The full color map was included at the back of the softcover and was attached to the binding. There was a perforation on it that allowed the map to be removed however.

I've got that book and the perforated bit is so close to the spine that I'm still trying to work out how to get the map out of the book without:
    Ripping the map or
Ripping off the back cover of the paperback

I think I'm going to need to go at it with a scalpel, but the book is so floppy, that it seems a bit dangerous to do that. :( :?

Wow, there are a lot more Blackmoor 3.5 books that I thought there were.

Welcome, Knightfall! :)

I think I know who you are IRL, BTW! :)

Yeah, BM 3.5 kind of fell under the radar after Zeitgeist Games changed the publisher.

Was a shame, because some the later books were actually quite good.

The softcover version of the Blackmoor Campaign sourcebook contained an improved layout, several text additions that were ultimately cut from the hardcover due to space. The Layout is much improved and of course, the color map pullout. It's a shame that some of the maps were difficult to separate. That happen during the production and it's a pain to this day. The Softcover is a better version of the sourcebook, imo.

Hi Dustin,
glad to see you are still around here. I agree about the Softcover being a better version. The map is gorgeous, although I also have a soft spot for Clayton Bunce's Blackmoor map from the Hardcover.

If you have a chance, perhaps you could take a look at my post about the History of Blackmoor publications to see if I got the dates right for the ZGG era products? :)
