I've been hearing great things about this upcoming RPG. Perhaps you could tell us a little more about this Le Noir Faineant? :)

Does anyone else know anything about this?

Well, thank you for asking, my dear viking!

The document I am working on under the code name "Mordred RPG" is a hommage Blackmoor, and overall,
Arnesonian fantasy. - Like somebody who has played it, investigated it, and written for it for seven years would do.

Right now, the last draft doesn't include any stats, though, so it will be a setting book only,
much like the Kingdoms of Kalamar core book for 3e.

The setting... A secret. But let's put it this way, everybody who likes Blackmoor, and who likes what we do here is gonna like it.

Probably.

In any case, from now on, I will periodically release previews for this over the next few months.

There is still A LOT open in the air, but what I can promise is, unless I get sick, or die, or whatever,
I'll release this over the next twelve months.

But Rafe, Rafe, where will you publish it?

Not sure, to tell the truth. So far, I have only realized two things:

1) RPG publishing is a total non-profit business.
2) I want to keep the rights to this; creating a world that is free from copyright crap is the whole idea of the exercise.

So, whichever company out there can meet MY requirements, them I will grant publishing rights.

Also, and most importantly, I am looking for a way to make it legal for people to write for the setting
- and cash in their own money independent from me - while I retain my rights as an author.

Not sure if that is SO clear to you: This would effectively mean that I donated an entire setting to the gaming community;
if that is, at all, legally possible without some asshole shark taking over my creation, I will do so without hesitating.

Lots of stuff to do, lots of stuff to come.

In case you have any questions, ASK away, folks!

Mordred RPG just got real.

Some things have been set in motion.

Nothing is all that set in stone yet, but from now on, people should be able to receive new info via this facebook page.

https://www.facebook.com/MordredbyRaphaelPinthus

Realistically speaking, and mainly because I decided to hire some professional editor and mapper guys, and have no idea how long that will take,
this book will likely not come out before the second half of 2013.

...But that doesn't mean I won't be generous about, well, whatever I can give you folks! :)

BTW, yeah, I am using a pen name for this. Everybody here should know my real name, but for this, and all of my other literary endeavors, I shall henceforth be known as "Raphael Pinthus".
Not that my real name wouldn't sound sort of made-up for a German guy, but as much as I welcome every attention in my shiny upcoming product, I iwould rather keep my hobbies
from coworkers, bosses, and,, raaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, students.

Wonder how you manage that, my dear viking?

Oh, I am building the page right now, so just *LAIK* it, if you like, even though it might look a bit messy RIGHT NOW. :)

So, the introductory adventure contained in the book will go about the infamous Prince Who Never Was, one of my personal favorite villainous creations.

Just revealed that over at DF.

That's a direct reference to MY Blackmoor.

And, OMG, that should get you guys so awesomely fired up. Who could it be... That "Prince Who Never Was"?

This is currently the top candidate for the final cover.

If you can name the artist, whoever you may be, I'll send you a free copy of the final, printed book.

Yeah, another small contest. :)
