  • OVERVIEW

It didnt take long after Dave Arneson introduced his group to the setting before new Blackmoor campaigns started to appear. After all of these years, Blackmoor is very much alive. This section details the Blackmoor campaigns run by the site's associates.
    THE FIRST FANTASY CAMPAIGN

DM: Dave Arneson (with other players filling in for Dave Arneson on occasion)

This campaign started ca 1970 (the exact year marking the start of the campaign is a debate among scholars) and was run by Dave Arneson. The most important events of the campaign were from ca 1970-1975 and are documented in the First Fantasy Campaign (Judges Guid, 1977). Bob Meyer, Greg Svenson and others helped Dave run occasional games when Dave was too busy. Dave Arneson kept running annual Blackmoor games for his players untill his passing in 2009. Bob Meyer has been running memorial games continuing the game since that time. Read more about the Original Blackmoor Campaign here (Comeback Inn registration required).
    THE DA SERIES

The DA Modules were published by TSR from 1986-87 for the BECMI editions of Dungeons & Dragons. They were written by Dave Arneson and David J Ritchie. These modules take place ca 30 years after the FFC. The modules were placed in a past era of the Mystara setting, though the modules are easy to adapt to other settings.

    BLACKMOOR The MMRPG

From 2004-2009, Dave Arneson's Blackmoor, the MMRPG, was a form of organized play similar to Living Campaigns managed by Dave Arneson's company, Zeitgeist Games.Learn more about the MMRPG and download the modules and documents for free here. Also follow the MMRPG on Facebook.
